El ostrero de las Chatham es un ostrero endémico de las Islas Chatham de Nueva Zelanda. Tiene plumaje negro en las partes superiores y blanco en las inferiores, con pico anaranjado y ojos rojos. Mide unos 45-49 cm. Especie críticamente amenazada con una población de unos pocos cientos de individuos. Habita en costas rocosas y playas de las islas. La depredación por gatos y ratas feral, junto con la perturbación humana, son sus principales amenazas.
