Habita en bosques húmedos de tierras bajas, tepuyes y sus estribaciones en la Guayana. Se alimenta de néctar de flores de plantas del sotobosque y dosel. Especie endémica de la región de la Guayana con distribución restringida al norte de América del Sur.
