El petrel de tormenta de Townsend es un pequeño petrel de tormenta endémico de la isla Socorro en el Pacífico mexicano. Tiene plumaje oscuro con la rabadilla blanca. Anida en madrigueras en la isla. La depredación por gatos ferales y ratas ha reducido drásticamente la población. Los esfuerzos de erradicación de los depredadores invasores son cruciales para la recuperación de la especie.
