El petrel de Hornby es un petrel de tormenta raro del Océano Pacífico oriental. Tiene plumaje gris y blanco con collar oscuro. Anida en acantilados costeros en el desierto de Atacama. Busca alimento en las frías aguas de la corriente de Humboldt. Es una de las especies de petreles menos conocidas y se considera vulnerable debido a lo restringido de su distribución.
