El trepacolas bigotudo es una especie grande del trepacolas de las Molucas y Papúa Nueva Guinea. Tiene partes superiores verdes brillantes, partes inferiores más claras y bigotes blancos. La cola está profundamente bifurcada. Captura insectos al vuelo sobre los doseles forestales. Anida en ramas de árboles. Habita en bosques primarios y bordes. Contribuye al control de insectos en los ecosistemas forestales de su área de distribución.

Found from the Moluccas and New Guinea east through the Bismarcks and Solomons to Micronesia. Resident in forest edge and open areas.

Sally-hunting aerial insectivore taking flies, beetles, and winged ants from an exposed tree perch; not continuously airborne.
