How to Tell Them Apart
Annakolibri
Metallic bronze-green upperparts. Males have an iridescent rose-red crown and gorget. Females have green upperparts with grey underparts and a small red gorget patch.

Der Annakolibri ist der häufigste Kolibri entlang der Pazifikküste und eine von nur drei Kolibriarten, die ganzjährig in den USA verweilen. Die Mandarinente gilt weithin als die schönste Ente der Welt. In der ostasiatischen Kultur symbolisiert sie Liebe und Treue, da sie feste Paarbindungen eingeht. Anders als die meisten Enten nistet die Mandarinente in Baumhöhlen bis zu 9 Meter über dem Boden, sodass die erst einen Tag alten Küken zu Boden springen müssen.
