Chatham Islands Oystercatcher (Haematopus chathamensis) is a large 47–49 cm oystercatcher endemic to the Chatham Islands, New Zealand. Black and white patterning; orange-red bill; pink legs. Critically Endangered; world population only ~440 birds. Inhabits rocky shores and sandy beaches on the Chatham Islands.

O ostraceiro-africano é uma ave costeira de tamanho médio das costas sul e oeste de África. Principalmente negro com bico vermelho-alaranjado brilhante e olhos vermelhos. Habita em costas rochosas e ilhas onde se alimenta de mexilhões, lapas e outros invertebrados. Relativamente sedentário, com pares estabelecidos em territórios. Nidifica no solo em costas rochosas.
