Assemelha-se ao ganso-de-testa-branca mas é menor, com anel ocular amarelo mais proeminente e mancha branca que se estende mais para cima na testa. Cria em tundra montanhosa na Sibéria. Hiberna principalmente na região do Mar Cáspio e Ponto. As populações sofreram declínios drásticos e está classificado como vulnerável. Similar to but smaller than Greater White-fronted Goose; more extensive white forehead reaching above eyes. Distinctive yellow eye-ring. Dark brown-gray body with black belly bars. Pink bill; orange legs.
Habitat & Range
Breeds on low-arctic and subarctic willow scrub and tundra across northern Eurasia. Winters on agricultural steppes and wetlands in Azerbaijan, Iran, Greece, and eastern Asia. Mixes with White-fronted Goose flocks.
