O ganso-de-bico-curto é um ganso cinzento médio que cria na Islândia, Gronelândia e Svalbard. É facilmente identificado pelo seu bico curto e cor de rosa-cinzento com banda rosada, pernas cor-de-rosa e pescoço castanho escuro. Hiberna no Reino Unido e Países Baixos em grande número. Alimenta-se principalmente de pasto e culturas agrícolas. As populações aumentaram nas últimas décadas devido a proteção e disponibilidade de culturas agrícolas nos locais de hibernada.

Dark brown head and neck. Back grayish-brown; underparts pale gray. Diagnostic pink feet and pink-banded dark bill. Pale blue-gray forewing in flight. Compact and round-headed. Sexes similar.
Habitat & Range
Breeds on tundra and cliff ledges in Greenland, Iceland, and Svalbard. Winters on agricultural fields, saltmarshes, and estuaries in Scotland, England, Netherlands, and Denmark.
