Uma perdiz da família Phasianidae, encontrada na Península Arábica. A Perdiz-de-cabeça-preta (Alectoris melanocephala) habita encostas rochosas, matagais e ambientes áridos e semiáridos na Arábia Saudita, Iêmen e Omã. Mede aproximadamente 35-40 cm. Caracterizada pela marcante cabeça preta distinta de outras perdizes do gênero. Alimenta-se de sementes, insetos e plantas. É endêmica da Península Arábica. Classificada como Pouco Preocupante pela UICN.

Endemic to the Arabian Peninsula; resident of rocky desert hillsides and wadi slopes in Yemen, Oman, and Saudi Arabia, below 3,000 m.
