How to Tell Them Apart
Stockente
Breeding males have an iridescent green head, white neck ring, chestnut breast, and grey body. Females are mottled brown. Both sexes show a blue speculum bordered by white.

Die Stockente ist die Stammform der meisten Hausentenrassen und die häufigste und am weitesten verbreitete Schwimmente der Welt. Rosalöffler
Der Rosalöffler ist die einzige Löfflerart Amerikas und einer der auffälligsten Watvögel der westlichen Hemisphäre. Wie bei Flamingos stammt seine rosa Farbe von Carotinoid-Pigmenten aus seiner Beute an Krebstieren. Im 19. Jahrhundert wegen seiner Federn fast bis zur Ausrottung bejagt, haben sich die Bestände seither erheblich erholt.
