Der Blauhäher ist ein mutiges, intelligentes Mitglied der Rabenvögel, bekannt für sein auffälliges Gefieder und seine lauten Rufe. Zu seinem komplexen Sozialverhalten gehört das Nachahmen von Bussardrufen, um andere Vögel von Futterstellen zu vertreiben.

Der Strauß ist mit einer Höhe von bis zu 2,7 Metern und einem Gewicht von bis zu 145 kg der größte lebende Vogel der Welt.
