How to Tell Them Apart
Annakolibri
Metallic bronze-green upperparts. Males have an iridescent rose-red crown and gorget. Females have green upperparts with grey underparts and a small red gorget patch.

Der Annakolibri ist der häufigste Kolibri entlang der Pazifikküste und eine von nur drei Kolibriarten, die ganzjährig in den USA verweilen. Männchen zeigen spektakuläre Sturzflüge aus 40 Metern Höhe und fangen sich mit einem lauten, von den Schwanzfedern erzeugten Zwitschern ab. Der Lachende Hans ist der größte Eisvogel der Welt und berühmt für seinen schallenden, lachähnlichen Ruf, der zu einem unverkennbaren Klang des australischen Busches geworden ist. Obwohl er zu den Eisvögeln zählt, frisst er nur selten Fisch und bevorzugt Beute vom Boden. Familiengruppen stimmen bei Sonnenauf- und -untergang gemeinsame Rufchöre an, um ihr Revier zu markieren.
