A tiny hummingbird (7 cm) endemic to western Ecuador. Males have a glittering gorget. Nectarivore of lowland and foothill forest edges. Classified as Endangered due to severe Chocó rainforest loss. One of the most threatened Ecuadorian hummingbirds.
