蓝鹱是南极和亚南极海域的小型海洋鸟类。体背蓝灰色，腹部白色，翅上具黑色斑纹，尾呈方形。以磷虾和小型鱼类为食，善于在浪尖飞翔觅食。在南大洋岛屿的地洞中繁殖，冬季在南大洋北部海域游荡。
Balearic Shearwater
30–38 cm. Brown above; variably dirty-white to brown below; often shows brown smudging on flanks. Breeds only Balearic Islands, Spain. Critically Endangered with fewer than 3,000 pairs; faces extinction. Migrates to NE Atlantic; threatened by predators, fishing bycatch, and tourist development.
