Blue Petrel
体長26〜32 cm、翼幅60〜71 cm。白い先端の四角い尾を持つ青灰色の背面；腹面は白。ミズナギドリに似るが尾のパターンが識別の鍵。南極亜南極諸島（サウスジョージア・クロゼ・ケルゲレン）で繁殖。南大洋を広く回遊し甲殻類・小魚を食べる。
Balearic Shearwater
30–38 cm. Brown above; variably dirty-white to brown below; often shows brown smudging on flanks. Breeds only Balearic Islands, Spain. Critically Endangered with fewer than 3,000 pairs; faces extinction. Migrates to NE Atlantic; threatened by predators, fishing bycatch, and tourist development.
