Black-necked Stilt (Himantopus mexicanus) is a slender 35–39 cm wader of the Americas. Bold black and white plumage; very long bright pink legs. Inhabits shallow freshwater and brackish ponds, salt pans, and coastal marshes from the western USA south to Brazil and Peru. Feeds on aquatic invertebrates.
