O pato-dos-kerguélen é um pato dabbling pequeno restrito às ilhas subantárticas de Kerguélen e Crozet no Oceano Índico sul. Assemelha-se a uma versão menor do pato-real mas com plumagem mais escura. Existe como espécie isolada nestas ilhas remotas. Enfrenta ameaças de ratos e gatos introduzidos que predam os ninhos e filhotes.
