A pintada-de-penas é uma espécie da África Central com plumagem negra salpicada de branco e uma cresta de penas longas e enroladas na coroa. Habita em florestas densas e orlas de floresta da bacia do Congo e regiões adjacentes. Alimenta-se de sementes, frutos e invertebrados no solo. Vive em grupos sociais e produz chamadas ruidosas. Partilha o habitat com outros francolins e pintadas nas florestas da África Central.

Resident in Central Africa from Cameroon and Gabon east to Uganda and western Democratic Republic of Congo. Found in lowland and foothill rainforest.
Diet & Feeding
Forages in Central African rainforests for invertebrates, seeds, and fallen fruits. Scratches leaf litter in small groups.
