Inambu-estrelado (Crypturellus strigulosus) — Inambu das florestas da Amazônia Central e Oriental do Brasil. Plumagem acastanhada com estrias nas partes superiores. Habita o sub-bosque de florestas de terra firme. Extremamente difícil de observar, detectado principalmente pelo canto. Pouco estudado em comparação com inambus de florestas meridionais.

Rufous-brown upperparts with fine blackish barring; crown dark brown. Face and throat pale buff. Breast uniform rufous-chestnut; belly whitish-buff. Flanks barred. Reddish legs. Sexes similar.
Habitat & Range
Dense lowland terra firme and seasonally flooded várzea rainforest in central and eastern Amazonian Brazil. Favors undisturbed forest interior with dense leaf litter and undergrowth.

Ranges through forests from southern Mexico to Bolivia and central Brazil. Sedentary in dense lowland and foothill forest undergrowth.

Omnivorous; eats seeds, fallen fruits, and invertebrates in lowland forests; forages solitarily at ground level.
