A small rufous-brown tinamou with fine pale streaking on its breast. Endemic to the Amazon basin of Brazil and adjacent areas. Terrestrial and secretive. Its clear fluted whistle is often the only indication of its presence in dense rainforest undergrowth.

Habitat & Range
Dense lowland terra firme and seasonally flooded várzea rainforest in central and eastern Amazonian Brazil. Favors undisturbed forest interior with dense leaf litter and undergrowth.
