Inambu-do-tepui (Crypturellus ptaritepui) — Inambu raro endémico dos tepuis da Venezuela e Guiana. Habita as florestas de altitude nos tepuis entre 1000 e 2000 m. Plumagem acastanhada com marcas. Extremamente pouco estudado. Restrito a um habitat único e remoto, o que o protege parcialmente de ameaças humanas diretas.

Plumagem
Dark brown upperparts with blackish vermiculations and barring. Crown and nape rufous-brown. Throat whitish; breast rufous. Flanks barred brown. Endemic to tepui highlands; sexes similar.
Habitat & Range
Humid forest and scrub on tepui highlands at 1,000–2,000 m in the Gran Sabana region of Venezuela. Extremely restricted to isolated table-mountain plateaus. Rarely studied or observed.
Distribuição geográfica
Found in forests and scrub of southern Bolivia and northwestern Argentina. Sedentary; inhabits dry montane valleys at 1,500–3,000 m.
Diet & Feeding
Scratches forest floor for seeds, small invertebrates, and fungi; diet dominated by seeds and tubers during dry months.

A clear, whistled phrase from Tepui tabletop habitats. Call is a 2-note falling whistle. Poorly documented; restricted range makes systematic study difficult.
