O ganso-bravo é o maior ganso cinzento e o ancestral de todas as raças de gansos domésticos. Tem plumagem cinzenta com ventre mais pálido e penas traseiras com bordas brancas. Cria em zonas húmidas de pradaria e tundra em toda a Europa e Ásia. Hiberna no sul da Europa, norte de África e sul da Ásia. É uma espécie adaptável que frequentemente aproveita campos agrícolas. As populações aumentaram em muitas partes da Europa nas últimas décadas.

Habitat & Range
Breeds on moorland, bogs, freshwater wetlands, and lake margins across Eurasia from Iceland to central Asia. Winters on estuaries, agricultural fields, and wetlands. Feral populations year-round in parks.
