O Pato-das-auckland (Anas aucklandica) habita florestas densas e vegetação costeira nas Ilhas Auckland. Mede aproximadamente 46-54 cm. É um dos poucos patos flightless do mundo, adaptado à vida em ilhas oceânicas isoladas. Alimenta-se de invertebrados, sementes e algas marinhas. A população total é estimada em apenas algumas centenas de indivíduos. Classificado como Em Perigo pela UICN, protegido em ilhas livres de predadores.
