A Chucar (Alectoris chukar) habita encostas rochosas e áridas, matagais e ambientes montanhosos desde a Europa Oriental ao Extremo Oriente. Mede aproximadamente 32-35 cm. Caracterizada pelo colar preto distinto, flancos barrados e bico e pernas vermelhos. Introduzida na América do Norte, Nova Zelândia e outras regiões para caça.
