소형 머리매로 체장 약 30cm이며, 갈색 몸통에 회색 머리, 붉은 얼굴 피부를 갖는다. 인도네시아 탄임바르 섬의 숲에 서식하는 고유종이다. 발효 무더기에 알을 낳아 부화시킨다. 취약한 상태이다.
