European Shag
体長68〜78 cm、翼幅95〜110 cm。光沢のある緑色を帯びた全黒色；繁殖期には短い直立した冠羽；黄色い口角。厳密に海洋性で、西ヨーロッパと地中海の岩礁海岸に繁殖。澄んだ沿岸水域で潜水して魚を捕食。絶滅危惧種；石油流出と乱獲が脅威。
Macquarie Shag
63–75 cm. Black with purple-green gloss; white underparts; orange-yellow caruncles. Endemic to Macquarie Island (Australian subantarctic). Vulnerable; total population only a few thousand birds. Feeds on fish in cold sub-Antarctic waters; nests colonially on coastal cliffs.
