About These Birds

Dulit Frogmouth

A medium-sized frogmouth (25-27 cm) endemic to montane forests of northern Borneo. Dark brown plumage. Nocturnal insectivore. One of the rarest and least known frogmouths, known from very few specimens. Limited information on ecology and behavior.

Sri Lanka Frogmouth

A small frogmouth (19-23 cm) endemic to the Western Ghats and Sri Lanka. Rufous-brown plumage with fine white spotting. Nocturnal insectivore of dense wet forest undergrowth. Known for its loud, distinctive frog-like croaking calls at dusk, inspiring its common name.
