A medium-sized hummingbird (13 cm) endemic to the Sierra de Perijá on the Colombia-Venezuela border at 1,700-3,100 m. Iridescent green plumage. Nectarivore of cloud forest. Classified as Endangered due to extremely restricted mountain range habitat.

Endemic to the Serranía de Perijá on the Colombia–Venezuela border at 2,000–3,200 m elevation.

Nectarivore of Colombian Sierra Nevada; visits Ericaceae and Fuchsia. Gleans small arthropods from mossy branches.
