Amethyst-throated Sunangel

El solángel de gorguera amatista es un colibrí pequeño de los bosques nublados andinos de Colombia, Ecuador, Perú y Bolivia. El macho tiene partes superiores verde brillante y un gorjal amatista iridiscente característico. La hembra es más apagada con partes inferiores moteadas. Se alimenta del néctar de flores de las zonas nubladas andinas. Es uno de los varios colibríes de gorguera que habitan en los Andes.

Allen's Hummingbird

A small hummingbird (8-9 cm) breeding along the Pacific coast from Oregon to southern California. Males have an orange-red throat and rufous flanks. Closely related to Rufous Hummingbird. Partial migrant; some populations resident on Channel Islands. Named after Thomas Allen.
