African Emerald Cuckoo (Chrysococcyx cupreus) — 20–22 cm. Male: dazzling emerald green above and on breast; yellow belly; red bill. Female: bronze-green above; rufous-barred below. Inhabits primary forest and dense secondary growth across West and Central Africa. Brood parasite targeting sunbirds and other small passerines. Insectivore.

El cucúl de halcón filipino (Hierococcyx pectoralis) mide 28-31 cm. Tiene partes superiores grises, pecho rojizo y partes inferiores inferiores barradas. Parásito de nido. Es endémico de las Filipinas, donde habita en bosques de tierras bajas y colinas. Especie poco estudiada. Produce llamadas silbantes repetitivas que permiten su detección en el bosque. Como otras especies del género, parasita los nidos de pequeños paseriformes.
