El cucúl de halcón filipino (Hierococcyx pectoralis) mide 28-31 cm. Tiene partes superiores grises, pecho rojizo y partes inferiores inferiores barradas. Parásito de nido. Es endémico de las Filipinas, donde habita en bosques de tierras bajas y colinas. Especie poco estudiada. Produce llamadas silbantes repetitivas que permiten su detección en el bosque. Como otras especies del género, parasita los nidos de pequeños paseriformes.
