About These Birds
African Three-banded Plover
Chorlitejo de tres bandas (Charadrius tricollaris), 17–18 cm. Dos collares pectorales (negro estrecho arriba, ancho abajo); frente blanca; dorso pardo; anillo ocular amarillo. Habita en orillas de ríos y lagos del África subsahariana. Nidifica en gravas. Se alimenta de insectos e invertebrados acuáticos.

Inhabits floating vegetation and margins of papyrus swamps and flooded grasslands across central and eastern Africa from South Sudan to Zambia. Walks on lily pads when foraging. Insectivorous. Largely sedentary.
