Chorlitejo rojo de Nueva Zelanda (Charadrius obscurus), 27–31 cm. Partes inferiores de color rojo-ladrillo llamativo (macho en cría); dorso pardo grisáceo; frente blanca. Habita en costas, estuarios y pastizales de Nueva Zelanda. Especie amenazada. Se alimenta de moluscos e invertebrados.
