El pato real o pato mudo es un gran pato arbóreo de México, América Central y del Sur que es el ancestro del pato de Berbería, ampliamente domesticado en todo el mundo. El macho salvaje es de color negro iridiscente con blanco en las alas y tiene la cara con carúnculas de color rojo y negro. Habita en bosques tropicales húmedos cerca de ríos, lagunas y pantanos.
Black-headed Duck
