El calzadito oscuro es un colibrí de Colombia y Ecuador, con plumaje verde oscuro y las patas emplumadas con penachos grises. Habita en bosques montanos húmedos y bordes de bosque en las laderas andinas. Se alimenta de néctar de diversas flores y pequeños insectos. Especie de distribución restringida en los Andes occidentales. Como todos los calzaditos, lleva plumas características en las patas que sobresalen en vuelo.

Distribución geográfica
Found on the Pacific slope from Panama south through Colombia and Ecuador in cloud forest. 800–2,200 m elevation.
Diet & Feeding
Nectarivore of Colombian and Ecuadorian cloud forest; forages at diverse Ericaceae blooms. Gleans small insects from mosses.
