Der Wanderfalke ist das schnellste Tier der Erde und erreicht bei seinem charakteristischen Sturzflug auf Beute Geschwindigkeiten von über 389 km/h. Wie der Weißkopfseeadler erlitt auch der Wanderfalke durch DDT dramatische Bestandseinbrüche, konnte sich jedoch dank intensiver Schutzprogramme erholen.
