The Barred Forest-falcon is a small falcon of the family Falconidae found in tropical and subtropical forests from Mexico through South America. Weighing about 206.2g with a wingspan of 33.4cm, it has finely barred underparts and a short, rounded wing shape adapted for maneuvering through dense forest. It preys on lizards, small birds, and large insects.
