Japanbrillenvogel
Der Japanbrillenvogel ist in ganz Ostasien ein vertrauter Gartenvogel und wird in Japan, wo er „Mejiro“ genannt wird, besonders geschätzt. Diese geselligen Vögel bilden außerhalb der Brutzeit Schwärme und sind wichtige Bestäuber von Pflaumen- und Kirschblüten. Auf Hawaii eingeführte Populationen sind allerdings invasiv geworden und konkurrieren dort mit einheimischen Kleidervögeln.
Rotschwanzbussard
Der Rotschwanzbussard ist der am weitesten verbreitete und häufigste Bussard Nordamerikas. Sein durchdringender Schrei ist so unverkennbar, dass er in Film und Fernsehen oft über Aufnahmen von Weißkopfseeadlern gelegt wird. Diese anpassungsfähigen Greifvögel gedeihen in vom Menschen geprägten Landschaften und sind ein vertrauter Anblick auf Masten entlang von Autobahnen.
