Der Rosaflamingo ist die am weitesten verbreitete Flamingoart und einer der bekanntesten Vögel der Welt. Seine rosa Farbe stammt ausschließlich von Carotinoid-Pigmenten in seiner Nahrung aus Krebstieren und Algen. Flamingos sind gesellige Vögel, die in riesigen Kolonien brüten, die mitunter Zehntausende Individuen umfassen.

Wanderfalke

Der Wanderfalke ist das schnellste Tier der Erde und erreicht bei seinem charakteristischen Sturzflug auf Beute Geschwindigkeiten von über 389 km/h. Wie der Weißkopfseeadler erlitt auch der Wanderfalke durch DDT dramatische Bestandseinbrüche, konnte sich jedoch dank intensiver Schutzprogramme erholen. Die Art hat sich bemerkenswert gut an städtische Lebensräume angepasst.
