Das Rotkehlchen zählt zu den beliebtesten Vögeln Großbritanniens, wo es als inoffizieller Nationalvogel gilt. Trotz seines zutraulichen Wesens gegenüber Menschen verteidigt das Rotkehlchen sein Revier gegenüber Artgenossen äußerst aggressiv und singt dafür das ganze Jahr über. Sein unverkennbarer Gesang gehört zu den ersten, die in der Morgendämmerung zu hören sind.
Japanbrillenvogel
Der Japanbrillenvogel ist in ganz Ostasien ein vertrauter Gartenvogel und wird in Japan, wo er „Mejiro“ genannt wird, besonders geschätzt. Diese geselligen Vögel bilden außerhalb der Brutzeit Schwärme und sind wichtige Bestäuber von Pflaumen- und Kirschblüten. Auf Hawaii eingeführte Populationen sind allerdings invasiv geworden und konkurrieren dort mit einheimischen Kleidervögeln.
