Emu
Der Emu ist der zweitgrößte lebende Vogel und der größte in Australien heimische Vogel. Er ist der einzige Vogel mit ausgeprägten Wadenmuskeln, die kraftvolles Laufen mit bis zu 50 km/h ermöglichen. Der Blaue Pfau ist der Nationalvogel Indiens und einer der spektakulärsten Vögel der Welt. Die riesige, über zwei Meter lange Schleppe des Pfaus wird bei aufwendigen Balzritualen gefächert und in Vibration versetzt. Trotz ihrer Größe können Pfauen kurze Strecken fliegen und übernachten in hohen Bäumen.
