Der Emu ist der zweitgrößte lebende Vogel und der größte in Australien heimische Vogel. Er ist der einzige Vogel mit ausgeprägten Wadenmuskeln, die kraftvolles Laufen mit bis zu 50 km/h ermöglichen.
