Wegen seiner eleganten Erscheinung von Marie-Antoinette benannt, ist er die zweithäufigste Kranichart der Welt.
Wanderfalke
Der Wanderfalke ist das schnellste Tier der Erde und erreicht bei seinem charakteristischen Sturzflug auf Beute Geschwindigkeiten von über 389 km/h. Wie der Weißkopfseeadler erlitt auch der Wanderfalke durch DDT dramatische Bestandseinbrüche, konnte sich jedoch dank intensiver Schutzprogramme erholen. Die Art hat sich bemerkenswert gut an städtische Lebensräume angepasst.
