Der Blauhäher ist ein mutiges, intelligentes Mitglied der Rabenvögel, bekannt für sein auffälliges Gefieder und seine lauten Rufe. Als wichtiger Verbreiter von Eichen versteckt er jeden Herbst Tausende Eicheln. Zu seinem komplexen Sozialverhalten gehört das Nachahmen von Bussardrufen, um andere Vögel von Futterstellen zu vertreiben.
Japanbrillenvogel
Der Japanbrillenvogel ist in ganz Ostasien ein vertrauter Gartenvogel und wird in Japan, wo er „Mejiro“ genannt wird, besonders geschätzt. Diese geselligen Vögel bilden außerhalb der Brutzeit Schwärme und sind wichtige Bestäuber von Pflaumen- und Kirschblüten. Auf Hawaii eingeführte Populationen sind allerdings invasiv geworden und konkurrieren dort mit einheimischen Kleidervögeln.
