Die Schleiereule besitzt die asymmetrischsten Ohren aller Eulen und damit das feinste Gehörsortungsvermögen im Tierreich. Sie kann Beute allein anhand von Geräuschen in völliger Dunkelheit fangen. Der markante herzförmige Gesichtsschleier der Schleiereule wirkt wie eine Parabolschüssel und leitet den Schall zu den versetzt angeordneten Ohren.

Wanderfalke

Der Wanderfalke ist das schnellste Tier der Erde und erreicht bei seinem charakteristischen Sturzflug auf Beute Geschwindigkeiten von über 389 km/h. Wie der Weißkopfseeadler erlitt auch der Wanderfalke durch DDT dramatische Bestandseinbrüche, konnte sich jedoch dank intensiver Schutzprogramme erholen. Die Art hat sich bemerkenswert gut an städtische Lebensräume angepasst.
