How to Tell Them Apart
Weißkopfseeadler
Adults have a dark brown body with a striking white head and tail. Juveniles are mottled brown and white, reaching full adult plumage at age five.

Weißkopfseeadler
Der Weißkopfseeadler ist der Nationalvogel und das Symbol der Vereinigten Staaten. Einst durch den Einsatz des Pestizids DDT gefährdet, erholte sich der Bestand bemerkenswert und wurde 2007 von der Liste der gefährdeten Arten gestrichen. Diese kraftvollen Greifvögel bauen die größten Baumhorste aller Vögel, manche mit einem Gewicht von über zwei Tonnen.

Der Helmkasuar wird aufgrund seiner kräftigen Beine und der dolchartigen inneren Kralle, die bis zu 12 cm lang werden kann, oft als gefährlichster Vogel der Welt bezeichnet. Trotz dieses Rufs sind Kasuare eine ökologische Schlüsselart des Regenwalds und verbreiten die Samen von Pflanzen, die kein anderes Tier verbreiten kann.
