Der Weißkopfseeadler ist der Nationalvogel und das Symbol der Vereinigten Staaten. Von zahlreichen Kulturen verehrt, wird er seit Jahrhunderten in der Falknerei eingesetzt, insbesondere von kasachischen Adlerjägern Zentralasiens. Bei der Jagd können Steinadler im Sturzflug Geschwindigkeiten von über 240 km/h erreichen.
