Der Papageitaucher, oft als Clown der Meere bezeichnet, ist ein charismatischer Seevogel, der in Höhlen an nördlichen Meeresklippen brütet. Dank rückwärts gerichteter Dornen am Gaumen kann er bis zu einem Dutzend Fische quer im Schnabel tragen. Klimawandel und Überfischung bedrohen sein Nahrungsangebot und führen zu Bestandsrückgängen.

Der Star ist berühmt für seine Schwarmflüge – riesige, wirbelnde Verbände aus Tausenden Vögeln, die am winterlichen Himmel faszinierende Muster bilden.
