How to Tell Them Apart

Pale grey upperparts, white underparts with a black cap. Blood-red bill and short red legs. Deeply forked tail streamers. Winter adults lose the full black cap.

Raggiparadiesvogel
Der Raggiparadiesvogel ist der Nationalvogel von Papua-Neuguinea und ziert die Nationalflagge sowie das Staatswappen. Männchen versammeln sich an traditionellen Balzbäumen, um kunstvolle Balztänze aufzuführen, wobei sie kopfüber hängen und ihre spektakulären Flankenfedern schütteln. Alfred Russel Wallace beschrieb die Art erstmals 1873.
